Collated for you

Here are some of my favourite products and brands that are sustainable to my health and wellbeing.

Nimble Active Wear

Active wear that feels great (honestly it really does, I feel as if I’m training naked but still looking stylish) Nibble Activewear is a step towards self-expression for women to celebrate individuality, acknowledge differences and develop self-acceptance.

Since 2015, Nibble Activewear has recycled 828, 554 plastic bottles!

Their custom engineered fabrics MoveLite and COMPRESSLITE™ are made from post-consumer used recycled plastics. WHAAA? Yep, you got it, every time you’re wearing one of their custom engineered pieces, you’re sweating it out in recycling.

The recycled plastic bottles are broken into flakes, melted into pellets, spun into yarn and knitted into their performance fabrics. Abracadabra! Plastic bottles never looked or felt so good.

They also reduce waste, packaging and transport by knitting their fabrics and manufacturing their activewear within a 80km radius in Taiwan.

The Husk Mill

Allow me to introduce you to The Husk Mill who are committed to sustainable practices by utilising cacao husk (traditionally considered a by-product) as their main ingredient, they have created a premium tea product that has sustainability as part of their DNA.

Their husks are sourced from the Western slopes of the Andes in Peru. They work with a farm that has an ongoing commitment to help improve the health and welfare of the native Andean communities. The cacao used is single origin, 70% dark chocolate bar grown in Mission Beach, Queensland and is made onsite using a traditional small batch method, minimizing its environmental impact. The Husk Mill are particularly conscious of packaging waste, and have chosen recyclable packaging for their range, including biodegradable cellulose inner bags.

The teas are high in antioxidants, minerals and vitamins. The cacao teas are 99.5% caffeine-free. Cacao and its husk contain theobromine, a stimulant which differs from its cousin caffeine. Theobromine has a slow release effect and helps release your body’s natural endorphins to give you that much needed pick-me-up. The teas are also preservative, and artificial additive-free and 100% vegan. My favourite – The Rose Cacao tastes like Turkish Delight – perfect for anyone who has a sweet tooth. Big Blue Cosmetica

I came across Big Blue Cosmetica late last year at the Abbotsford Wellness Markets. They are serious about sustainability and have a range of eco sensitive skincare, haircare & cleaning products handmade in Melbourne from locally sourced ingredients.

Majority of their products are completely vegan and have been developed to include more Australian ingredients and rely less on non-native ingredients that have travelled further afield. In return reduces our overall carbon footprint of each product and celebrates the wonderful native botanicals unique to this land. Ingredients are properly natural first and certified organic where available.

All product packaging is 100% recyclable, reusable, and REFILLABLE – for a discount!

Check out Big Blue Cosmetica – free shipping for orders over $60 use code ‘FREESHIP60’ at checkout. My favs include the Kakadu Plum clarifying serum and remineralising toothpowder.
